EPS Global Officially Opens Full-Production Programming Center in Indianapolis

January 28, 2020, Indianapolis, USA — EPS Global has today unveiled its newly remodeled and extended Programming Center in Indianapolis. This automotive-certified Programming Center is part of a wider network of eighteen programming facilities EPS owns and operates across the world.

The Programming Center in Indianapolis has been upgraded from an NPI Center to a full-production facility in line with the perceived uptick in the reshoring and onshoring of manufacturing in North America. The significant investment in this location has included populating the center with many additional automatic machines that are equipped with EPS’s latest technology. EPS Indianapolis now has the capacity and resources to address many of the challenges traditionally associated with the manual handling of ICs. Vision systems that carry out on-the-fly adjustments of pick & place positioning; self-teaching algorithms that improve accuracy and shorten setup times; 100% 3-D Coplanarity checking post-programming; and Automatic Optical Inspection after the devices have been placed back in carrier tape to ensure 100% correct pin 1 orientation and marking are some of the features EPS’s latest handlers have incorporated.

The Programming Center occupies a significant portion of a larger premises that houses EPS’s North American back office, Customer Service, Sales and Technical teams. The new facility has recently successfully passed a VDA audit by one of the largest global Tier 1 automotive electronics suppliers.
